Waking Ear

We have a pact, you and I. I write down what song I had in my head when I woke up in the morning. And, maybe, why. You click on "What's in your waking ear?" and tell me what's in your head right now. We discover new music and maybe learn something about how our minds work. Yeah?

So nobody's posted in a while and we're all really busy. Time to hang it up? Any suggestions for reinvigorating the Ear?

Comments:
If everyone's lost the time for Waking Ear, where has their time gone? Too much work, other online priorities? I have certainly been disapointed the last few weeks to see no new posts, as ya'll are an important source for music. Am I missing something here? Has everyone else moved on?

Work is what initially got in the way for me. I'd post in the morning, as soon as I could, but the past few weeks have been hellish and I found no time to post.
It's been better lately, but I suppose seeing no one else posting made me hesistant to post as well.
Not a good exuse, I know.

I don't want Waking Ear to go away. Not sure how much of an audience we've lost though since the dry spell...

oh, this is Chelle posting. i didn't sign in.

Sitemeter sez we're down to about 16 unique visits a day. We used to average about 25 or so, which was never a whole lot, but a nice little readership. I'm guessing regular posting would bring it back up.

Three ideas to float:

a) Would it make more sense to have everyone just post whenever they feel like it instead of having designated days for each poster?

b) Blogger has just made it possible to post via e-mail -- send an e-mail to a specified address and it gets posted straight to the site. Would that help people post more regularly?

c) Should we add another couple of Waking Ear comments regulars as posters on the site?

The idea of people posting whenever it suits, instead of on designated days, seems pretty good; it might liven things up a bit.

I tend to lurk more than comment these days, but it would be a shame to see the Ear go down the tubes.

Then again, the well-timed "hiatus" seems to be fairly well accepted in the blogosphere by now. It's never a crime to take it easy, chill out and come back with a fresh pair of ears as they say.
